Connecting Carers in their Community

Yarram Neighbourhood House is thrilled to announce we have been successful in receiving a Connecting Carers in their Community grant funding.

The Connecting Carers in their Community Small Grants program has awarded 28 grants of between $15,000 and $25,000 to assist with activities that strengthen the local and social connection of unpaid carers. The purpose is to support community organisations and groups, including carer support and peer groups to create opportunities to connect to carers in their local, social and cultural communities.

The grant program is funded by the Victorian Government and administered by Carers Victoria. We look forward to working with the other grant recipients and creating opportunities for carers in our community.

A full list of 2025 recipients and information about the grants can be found here from 16 October Connecting Carers in their Community Small Grants – Carers Victoria

Yarram Carers Country Fair

Yarram Carers Country Fair recently! I have a few huge thank yous – to Cathy, Andrew, Zac and Grace and crew, Belinda, Fiona Curram for the beautiful music and Tania for helping with the washing up. Thank you also to our beautiful carers for coming along and making it a happy friendly day. I’m so grateful for the group we’re creating and the friendships forming. Also a big thank you to my family – Dirk and Harry, especially for your help and support behind the scenes.

I look forward to seeing everyone soon!
